The compelling story of one of the most decorated American weightlifters in the history of the sport. Kono, a Japanese-American, transcended a challenging childhood that included incarceration at Tule Lake interment camp. The Sacramento native went on to become a two-time Olympic gold medalist, an Olympic silver medalist, and six-time World Champion. Kono also won several body building competitions that included three Mr. Universe titles. He became an inspiration to other great athletes in the sport including former Governor of California and action star Arnold Schwarzenegger.
